The main objective of the Model River Mezen Project is the development of cooperation with the local population on the basis of the problem understanding. It is impossible to reach the main goal without such cooperation – restoration of river resources and contribution to sustainable management of river resources and columbine.

It is important that the local population along Mezen River understands, that the program of the river resources restoration is useful first of all to the local people and that it is impossible to reach good results without their active participation as they are also responsible for the present state of the river resources and for the future of their river and villages. That is why it is important to inform the local population about sustainable nature use, history of the nature use on the given territory. The supplement to the local newspaper gives an opportunity not only to inform the population about the project realization but also to participate in the discussion of the problems.
