Approved Recommendations

On April 16, 2009 the methodological recommendations on biodiversity conservation during loggings in Komi were approved by the State Forestry Service of the Komi.

The recommendations have been developed by Silver Taiga representatives aiming at meeting the requirements of legislation in the sphere of nature protection and biodiversity conservation.

The recommendations are based on the idea of natural forest process support on the level of stand and landscape by means of imitation of natural forest dynamics during loggings and silvicultural operations.

The recommendations take into consideration the requirements of the voluntary forest certification. They have been developed in accordance with the main stages of preparations for loggings.

Silver Taiga representatives are going to issue a booklet devoted to the key issues of the recommendations.
